Window Restrictors and Friction Stays

A window restrictor is a safety device which prevents a window from opening further than a fixed distance. The fixed distance is typically set at 100mm, which is to prevent anybody from getting in and out the window.

Friction stays are used in conjuction with free moving hinges, holding the window open and preventing them from being blown by wind.
