How do Night Latch Locks Work?

Nightlatches are mounted onto the surface of the internal side or a door. The bolt is withdrawn into the casing using the internal lever from inside or using a key from the outside.

A snub or button on the internal casing of the nightlatch is used to hold the latch back so the door is constantly unlocked, ideal for short periods of time to avoid repeated unlocking of the door.
