Multi-point locking systems are a popular, secure solution for use with timber and composite doors where a single locking point does not offer enough security. Composite multi-point door locks provide secure locking points at the top and bottom of the door, modelled after the deadlocks used historically on wooden doors.

Today, multi-point door locks are used across a wide range of door and window types and provide additional assurance for commercial and domestic property security. A popular option for secondary external access points such as garages and patio doors, multi-point locks can also be used on doors that facilitate the main entry to the building. Our multi-point locks come in a variety of sizes to suit your requirements with support for 3-point locking systems, high-security 5-point locking systems and multi-point locks for both single and double door installations.

Primarily, each of our multi-point systems is operated via a Euro Cylinder and lever handle which controls the central deadlock, boasting a minimum of two hooks or deadbolt locking points. The traditional 3-point locking system provides an extra level of security and has been designed to prevent timber warping and bowing, even through constant use. Types of Multi-Point Locking Systems

  • Single Door Multi-Point Locking Systems - Installed on a single external door with individual frame
  • Auto-Lock Multi-Point Locking Systems – Automatically engaged once the door is closed, often using a magnetic system with the option of a daytime release function.
  • Stable Door Multi-Point Locking System – Peace of mind for rural locations and properties, stable door multi-point locks provide high security for both upper and lower levels of split barn doors.
  • Double Door Multi-Point Locking System – Installed on slave/master, double, casement, terrace or French doors that interlock with either a single or twin door handle system. Perfect as wooden french door security locks.

How to choose a replacement locking system for your doors

Finding the right lock for you will depend on the requirements of your application. To identify a replacement for an existing door lock, check the centre point of the metal keep (running down the inside strip of the door once opened) for the brand and identifying product number. If there is no branding mark, remove the lock from the door and match the shape of the central body to one of the product images in our catalogue of multi-point locking systems.

When replacing multi-point door locks like-for-like, ensure to make a note of the type of locking points – hook, deadbolt, centre latch and roller cam - as well as the order these are found from the top to the bottom of the lock. Then take a measurement from:

  • The top and bottom hook or deadbolt locking point
  • The distance between the spindle and key
  • The distance from the centre of the keyhole to the edge of the metal lock strip (known as the backset)

These measurements can then be used to find a suitable lock replacement for your door.
